During the project phase NavisWorks is used to make the 3D models of the project available to the project team. By using NavisWorks the project team can experience the project before it’s real”. However, a project is more than just 3D models; each and every component has its own properties and specification. The required property information, used for Design Reviews, purchasing components and eventually for maintenance is either included in Navisworks model as attributes or stored in a database in different location. This property information in databases can be linked to a Navisworks model using DataLink Tools software , which enables both the attribute data inside the Navisworks model and the property information from databases to be used when generating reports with Reporter Add-On. This capability will result in an even larger added value of your 3D model during the whole project phase. All necessary information is within reach and can be processed as reports with required component or material information. Reports are generated based on Navisworks Selection or Search Sets that can freely be defined by the Navisworks user and then can be used for report generation. Required object properties are then selected by ticking them and then previewed and sorted in the Data Table window. The Data table window enables checking the report before generating it either to an excel sheet format or pdf format. Model tab enables viewing the respective Navisworks model that is especially useful when using as a stand-alone version. Reporter Add-On can be used during the design phase, fabrication, onsite and during the life cycle of a plant or a building in inspections, maintenance etc. Reporter Add-On is equipped with an easy to use but powerful user interface, therefore it is a perfect tools for project managers, design managers, on-site managers and other project team members that all have different needs to access, use and manage the component and material information.
